After a long think about what to do with all the riding and motorcycle thing (almost couple of years to be exact) many options and many thoughts, finally decided to go ahead and get myself an old DRZ400… the idea was to get as simple bike as possible, not too powerful not too complex and go as cheap as possible and then spend a lot to put it where I want it to be!
The search of the bike was interesting, even selection of the bike was something… even started a list of things each of the bikes had to offer, availability of parts – normal and aftermarket!
And in the end settled with this… not too new, not too old… not too great but not too worn… and even though it looked rough there wasn’t that many things damaged that I did not plan to change anyway.
So… plastics didn’t matter… pegs didn’t matter… tank didn’t matter… and a whole bunch of other things that didn’t matter, what matter was the frame, the engine, and some other bits that are ok, and I’m not talking about the bearing or seals as all that I was planning to replace anyway!
Maybe a silly idea, but hey, we rarely know that till we get to the end of it!
For comparison, to the list I even included bikes I already had, and well… DRZ400 seemed like the Ultimate Ultimate bike for adventure riding, at least on the “paper”! We will see!
