Fun route around Thetford Forest!

This is the recap video of this route: HERE

And this one was very similar too in a way, also around that area: HERE

Very basic 73-Mile route around Thetford forest, avoiding most of the super muddy and seasonally closed lanes, but still a good mixture of lanes. Some Unclassified County Roads and some Byways open to all traffic.

The nice thing about this area is that some lanes are super sandy when dry, but when it’s wet it gets a bit muddy too!

Since it’s a loop around Thetford, obviously it starts and ends in one spot, and you can’t beat a spot next to the food place – and in this case it’s Walkers Snack Bar, good food is a must before the trails!

Starts and ends:

52°20’27.9″N 0°32’08.5″E

52.341081, 0.535695

Bury Saint Edmunds IP28 6AE

Something to keep in mind:

Apart from the fact that puddles do get very deep when wet, please keep an eye out for dogs, hikers and cyclists, and.. well –  occasional cars parked in the middle of nowhere. It’s a very popular area , so it does get busy sometimes as people come to have a good time there.
