AJP PR7 Extended Front Brake Line – Things To Know

After fitting handlebar risers, I did see that the front brake line became a bit on the short side, not terribly short that it would start stretching or binding for example, so I left it as it is to see if I can get away without changing it (more about handlebar risers follow this link, or check out link at the end of this page).

However, the brake line – slightly catching on the dash – was the least of the problems as I found out later.

At some point when I was riding, the brake line slipped in between the upper fork clamp and the dash, and when I turned to the right it was just enough for them two to pinch on it slightly and when suspension extended – stripped all the protective layers of the speed sensor wires as well as brake line coating!

Standard AJP PR7 Front Brake line Length

After measuring the standard brake line, here is what I have found: Length 127cm (end to end not the center to center of the fittings) master cylinder banjo M10 90 degree bend, caliper – banjo M10 straight end.

New brake lines length is 131cm, that is a bit of an overkill I would say, but better a bit loose than a bit too tight – lines ordered from Helperformance.
