GUGLAtech Fuel Filter on AJP PR7 – V2!

Originally I had this magic fuel “sock” fitted right on top of the fuel filler neck / spout on my PR7 (a bit more about it here), and it worked really well, I guess… Idea was to fit it higher up, so it filters out fuel before it gets to the fuel tank and  it worked well! However…

All those times I had to remove the fuel pump on the side of the road and seeing all that dirt falling into the tank, I realised that it’s time to move the guglatech filter elsewhere… pretty much into a very standard place – right over the fuel pump itself secured with a couple of very special cable ties!

In a way, it’s the best place to keep it, as fuel pumps do wear out too, and most of the small particles that get separated from the fuel pumps brushes will be pushed out right through the fuel pressure valve right back into the tank. Obviously some of it will travel up to the fuel filter, where hopefully it will get filtered out..

Anyway, it should work even better there!

By the way, after testing it for some time, both ways (actually all 3 ways), it was kind of interesting to see how much of the fuel flow it restricted while filling up, and honestly, neither way PR7’s fuel tank filled up any quicker! (Well apart from the way it was originally designed by guglatech -pushing it down the filler neck – it was unusable that way, and the original cap was impossible to close – just in case I haven’t mentioned that before).

The additional breather tube helped a bit though!
