Here is a bit of a rant. We, as riders, always look for bikes that are lighter and lighter, we ask for more power, less weight and manufacturers have no choice but to use different materials, cut excess, calculate where that extra gram or two can be taken off and so on and on, and in the end – we all suffer for that … Here is one of those examples, like rear wheel spacers, front set just went out through the window… Why? Because we all keep asking for lighter bikes!
Long story short, my front wheel spacers have failed just as miserably as my rear set, obviously lasted a bit longer but still – pathetic. Again, ordering a new set every time I change seals sounds very expensive (and it is!), and to make it worse, I could not find anywhere where I could find better quality than the standard set!
After spending hours and hours looking around and asking around where and who could make a proper set, much like the set I had on my rear wheel, I found nothing, or I was quoted a fairly unreasonable price as that would be a “one off” job…
Since I already had a rear set from 3Dmoto.pl (you can read about it here – extremely happy about them!) I thought I’ll reach out to them as that would work very well for all of us, and 3Dmoto.pl were more than happy to step in! After exchanging a number of messages, and finding out all the measurements needed to make decent spacers, they have made it!
It didn’t take very long before the very first set reached me – nice and shiny stainless steel! What a beauty! Fits just like the old set, not too tight, not too loose – just perfect! And after testing them for a while, once again, 3Dmoto.pl have proved themselves to deliver absolutely amazing products! And knowing that their rear wheel set outlasted more than twice the mileage of the standard set already and the surface of the spacers just got polished off, I am confident that front wheel spacers will serve me for a long long time!
3Dmoto.pl – Huge thank you for stepping in, and making it possible! (Not sponsored by the way!)
